Lindsay Lohan role in "Inferno" is officially gone up in smoke.
The film's director Matthew Wilder said the production company will replace the troubled actress, who was to play 1970's porn star Linda Lovelace.
"We're stuck in Lindsay with great patience for a long time with much love and support," said Wilder. "Ultimately, it is impossible to convince him and some other things, made it impossible for us to go forward."
Just last week, Wilder called for 24 years, would play Lovelace troubled star, despite his legal troubles, which included a stint in prison.
Lohan is currently in court-ordered treatment for drug abuse in Southern California. She is expected to rehab at least until January 3. Wilder added that his production team are negotiating with another actor, and early warning.
A spokesman for the "Mean Girls" star says: "Lindsay is dedicated to his recovery and together they decided to go ahead without him."
