Obama has chosen another warrior Windy City on Thursday to be his new chief of staff.
Bill Daley, son of legendary Chicago mayor and brother of the current replace Rahm Emanuel, who is running to be the next mayor of the second.
"Few Americans can boast the breadth of experience he brings to this position," said Obama, who joked Daley winning the government "is a genetic trait."
"You have honored me and my family," said Daley, 62, who said that his visit to the White House for the first time 50 years ago to meet President John Kennedy. "This team is not going to disappoint you, or the nation."
Daley is at the heart of Chicago's American, but is also an old Washington. E 'was secretary of the Clinton administration trade and head of Al Gore failed 2000 presidential election mandate.

Adam Green, co-founder of the progressive change in the committee raising campaign said Daley "was a real mistake."
"Bill Daley is constantly urging the Democratic Party to sue a company program that alienates independent and Democratic voters," said Green.
"If a President Obama listen to this type of policy advice from Bill Daley, Democrats suffered a disastrous 2012."
Former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean, who was not a fan of the style of Emmanuel management in-your-face Obama kudos for choosing an "adult".
"He gets that treat people like you know everything and they do not," he said.
"Bill Daley is much more conservative than I am. He knows Washington, but it is not Washington. And he gets what the rest of the country thinks."
