Daley is at the heart of Chicago's American, but is also an old Washington. E 'was secretary of the Clinton administration trade and head of Al Gore failed 2000 presidential election mandate.

There is no liberal.

A top executive of JPMorgan Chase, Daley is a pro-business Democrat who is expected to follow a more centrist when he takes over the head of the agency staff Pete Rouse.

U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which has clashed with the White House has given the designation of a big thumbs up.

"We look forward to working with him for a quicker recovery, economic growth, create jobs and fight against the global challenges of America," said Thomas Donohue, president of the House honcho.

Adam Green, co-founder of the progressive change in the committee raising campaign said Daley "was a real mistake."

"Bill Daley is constantly urging the Democratic Party to sue a company program that alienates independent and Democratic voters," said Green.

"If a President Obama listen to this type of policy advice from Bill Daley, Democrats suffered a disastrous 2012."

Former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean, who was not a fan of the style of Emmanuel management in-your-face Obama kudos for choosing an "adult".

"He gets that treat people like you know everything and they do not," he said.

"Bill Daley is much more conservative than I am. He knows Washington, but it is not Washington. And he gets what the rest of the country thinks."
