Patrice Evra has lost his appeal against a cell suspension of five games of the French national team. The French Football Federation imposed the ban on Evra role in the formation of a boycott of French team of the World Cup in South Africa. Manchester United left back Evra, who was captain of the team to challenge the suspension, but Thursday was his sentence was upheld by the Appeal Board FFF.
FFF A statement read: "The General Committee of the complaints, which met today to consider an appeal by Patrick Evra, has decided to retain the five-match penalty for non-selection for the France team delivered Aug. 17 by the disciplinary committee of Parliament.
Evra lawyer Jean-Yves Foucard, said: "Patrice Evra has wanted to express herself as he does at great length, and the Commission listened very attentively and asked good questions.
Patrice explained that he has fulfilled its function with transparency and honesty, always trying to bridge the gap between the players and staff, especially coach. It is understandable, one can imagine that these relationships are not simple ". Evra is one of four players banned in France following World Cup debacle in which they have benefited from the last 16 of the competition, collecting a single point in three games.
Nicolas Anelka, who was sent home after an argument with coach Raymond Domenech has handed down a 18-game suspension, while Franck Ribery and Jeremy Toulalan scored three a game.
Only Evra appealed his ban, and the result means he is ineligible to play for France until their friendly match against Brazil in February.
