Rich Cronin, former lead singer of boy band LFO and writer of 1999 hit Summer Girls, died on Wednesday after a battle with leukemia, a celebrity Web site TMZ.com reports. He was 35 The news was also reported Twitter Lance Bass, former 'N Sync, which Cronin describes as "an extraordinary guy." It is unclear to what Cronin has died.
The co-founder of Boston native LFO - Lyte Funky Ones for short - in 1995 with Brad Fischetti and Brian Gillis, who was later replaced by Devin Lima.They signed an agreement with Lou Pearlman, the impresario behind today jailed Pop 'N Sync and Backstreet Boys. But Cronin tried to differentiate their group from other groups of men, who invoked outside songwriters and producers to deliver Pop Hits. LFO introduced hip-hop and rock into the equation. They hit number three on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles with Summer Girls.The group disbanded in 2003.Cronin diagnosed with cancer in 2005.
