Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh visited Myanmar at the weekend to discuss her plans to star in a new film about the recent release of pro-democracy Aung San Suu Kyi.
Yeoh is best known for playing Chinese spy Wai Lin with Pierce Brosnan in the 1997 film of James Bond "Tomorrow Never Dies" spent Sunday with Nobel Peace Prize to discuss the possibility of his playing in a movie.
The charismatic Suu Kyi, daughter of the late independence hero Aung San and adored by many in Myanmar, has spent 15 of the last 21 years in detention because of his fight against the military dictatorship. She was released on November 13 after his latest period of house arrest expires.
"(Suu Kyi) has been at the airport this morning," said Nyan Win, Suu Kyi's lawyer and spokesman.
"Yeoh spent the day at the home of Aung San Suu Kyi," he added, referring to Aung San Suu Kyi. "I understand that she intends to play a movie in the near future.
" Yeoh, 48, is also a dancer and is well known for performing his own stunts in action movies.
It is played mainly in Asia films and was nominated for a BAFTA for best actress for her role in Ang Lee's office Box 2000 hit "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," which won four Oscars.
