United States has offered to provide assistance to Australia, which has been hit by devastating floods.
Up to 200,000 people estimated to have been affected by the fast flowing water which flooded 22 villages in north-east, an area the size of France and Germany.
Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State, expressed his condolences on Monday of the loss of lives in floods and said the U.S. was willing to provide assistance to its closest allies.
"On behalf of the President (Barack) Obama and the people of the United States, I offer my condolences for the loss of life and damage in the recent Queensland floods," Clinton said in a statement.
"Our embassy in Canberra, will monitor the situation and is in contact with the Australian authorities. Australia is an important partner and friend in the U.S. and we are ready to provide assistance," he said.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the floods, especially the families of the victims, and all the people of Australia."
