Gwyneth Paltrow "country strong" character Kelly Canter unfolds a tale all too common in the music industry: fallen star, drug addict rehabilitation candidate determined to return to their former glory.
In fact it was only last year that we celebrated "Crazy Heart", the male version of this drama, with Jeff Bridges in the lead role, which earned him an Oscar.
And while "country strong" have also tried to Nashville for the authenticity of most of the film shot in Music City, hiring producers established as Byron Galimore (Tim McGraw, Sugarland) and Nathan Chapman (Taylor Swift) and work with local musicians and crew, a source of inspiration for the main character was in the world of pop Specifically: Britney Spears and Michael Jackson.
"We support these artists and to celebrate, then at the first sign of weakness, we rally around their fall," writer-director Shana Evening Billboard. "So we want to rebuild for a return. How hard to live life as it publicly."
Partying wrote most of the manuscript in 2008 that Britney made a series of personal - the tragedies - and the public. She had finished the manuscript when news of the death of Michael Jackson broke. "I wanted to present these characters disorder, complicated and conflicted," she said. "Everybody is imperfect."
